THE VFAN SITE

Security

This note describes the controls on this fan site. It is not a security certificate and it is not a claim of compliance with a named standard.

  • The public site is served over HTTPS.
  • You must register and sign in before you can post, reply, list a business, or send a guest post or press release.
  • Email sign-up accepts a Gmail address or a company email. Passwords are handled by the sign-in system. This site does not show them back to you.
  • New topics, replies, listings, and guest posts stay hidden until a moderator approves them.
  • The moderation desk is not a public page. Only an admin or a moderator can open the queue.
  • Paid listings and guest posts are checked out securely by card through the site's checkout (Hercules Commerce). Card details are entered on the secure payment page, not on this site.
  • The contact form sends the message to the desk email. It does not publish the message on the site.

If you find a problem with an account or a page, use the contact form. Do not send a password in that message.
