The red chair, the picture that outlasted the panel

You can forget a winner and still describe the show. Four chairs, or however many the series is using, facing away from the stage. A button. A turn. A singer who has a few bars. That picture is older than any one coach and it survived the move from television later.

The acts are what give the picture a human sequence. Jessie J in the first four. will.i.am across the years. Sir Tom Jones at the start and again later. The pop coaches of the later seasons. The winners from Leanne Mitchell through the later finals. The singers, like Becky Hill, who left early and worked anyway.

A fan site that only posts the latest coach is a listings page for a broadcaster. This one is a notebook of the whole run, plus a forum, plus a directory of ordinary businesses that has nothing to do with the trophy. The chair is on the articles because the chair is what the articles are about. The businesses are in their own section.

The illustrations on these pages are drawings made for this site: chairs, microphones, lights. They are not photographs of the artists, and they are not official pictures.

This is an independent fan note by Aston Kennedy, founder and owner of this site. It is not written by the artist, and it is not an official page.
