Series 5 in 2016 was the last on television. Ricky Wilson mentored the winner, Kevin Simm. Jolan was runner-up. Cody Frost and Lydia Lucy were the other finalists. Boy George and Paloma Faith were the new coaches that year.
Simm was not an unknown. He had been in Liberty X after Popstars. The Voice UK gave him another final and a win, years after that first group.
The series is built to find new singers. Simm’s win showed it could also restart a career that the public had already met.
