JJ was knocked out, then won Eurovision

Johannes Pietsch sang on series 9 and went out in the knockouts. He was not in the final won by Blessing Chitapa.

In 2025 he won the Eurovision Song Contest for Austria with Wasted Love, under the name JJ. He is the first singer from The Voice UK to win Eurovision.

That result sits outside the show’s own trophy. It is also the strongest argument the series has produced that an early exit is not the end of the story.
