Jessie J was already a chart singer when The Voice UK opened on television in 2012. The coaches that first series were will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue. Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates hosted. The picture people kept was not a poster of a single star. It was four chairs, turned away, and a button.
Fans still talk about her as one of the original coaches rather than as a later guest. She came to the show as a pop act with her own records, and the chair asked her to do a different job: listen first, then turn. That is the whole point of the format John de Mol built, and the British series used it from the first night.
Her teams belonged to those early early years. Viewers argued about who she turned for, which singer she fought the other coaches for, and how a pop vocalist coached someone else's voice. Those arguments are the show. A fan site can retell them without pretending to speak for her.
Later series changed the panel many times. Jessie J's place in the story stays at the start. When people list the coaches who opened the British show, her name is in that first four. The red chair, the blind audition, and that original panel are the memory this site is built around.
