Bo Bruce and the first final

The first final, on television in 2012, was Leanne Mitchell, Bo Bruce, Tyler James and Vince Kidd. Sir Tom Jones mentored Mitchell. She won.

Mitchell released a single, a cover of Run to You, and an album the following year. The album did not become a hit. Bruce, the runner-up, released Before I Sleep and kept a following of her own.

The first series is remembered as much for who did not win. Becky Hill’s later career sits beside that final as the other story of 2012.
