Series two had a shape the first series did not have: viewers knew the chairs, they knew the button, and they knew there would be a final. Andrea Begley won that series. The blind audition was no longer a novelty. It was the rule of the show, and she came through it.
Fans of that year talk about the song choices and about the live shows, when the coaches were no longer the only judges that mattered. A public vote changes the programme. A coach can love a voice and the vote can go another way. That tension is the second half of every series.
Her win sits second on the list that starts with Leanne Mitchell and runs forward through the early years inlater. A list is not a ranking of talent. It is a record of who the competition named at the end of each run.
The piece is here so series two is not skipped just because series one has the origin story. Every year produced singers. This year produced a winner fans can still name.
